What is iNoticeboard?
iNoticeboard is a computer program that combines Noticeboards, Calendars, Planners, Forums, Messaging and Chat. It is quick to install, ready to use straight "out of the box" and is easy to adapt to your needs.	The aim of iNoticeboard is to improve communication between all teaching staff. We worked closely with a group of primary school head teachers to design iNoticeboard for their needs. They all had various ways of communicating with their staff but needed a simpler less time consuming combined solution. iNoticeboard is not a Learning platform, it’s a communication tool for staff. It’s always up to date and quick and easy to use. Totally secure as it runs within the school network so no annoying adverts or spam email that are common place these days.
All in One Place The iNoticeboard window has everything you need in one place. The centre area shows the main view, either Noticeboard, Calendar, Planner, Forum or Messaging. Quickly switch between them with the press of a button. The two Side Panels show useful information such as your Contacts list, Reminders and Activity for today. They are always available and can be hidden to give more room for the main view.
Install Once, Access Anywhere iNoticeboard is installed once, on one computer on your network and can then be accessed from any other computer. Sign in securely and access it from desktop PCs and laptops connected via Wi-Fi etc.
Quick to learn, Easy to Use iNoticeboard has been designed to be very quick to learn and very easy to use. Each of the different areas work in a very similar way, whether you are adding a Notice to a Noticeboard, putting an entry in the Calendar or Planner, or posting a Topic in the Forum.
Noticeboard Just like a real noticeboard but accessible from anywhere there is a computer. It can keep itself up to date and is neat and tidy. No more out of date or overlapping notices. Noticeboard Notices can also appear in the Calendar and Planner. click to learn more
Calendar A simple flexible Calendar system. You can choose which Calendars to view and also blend in Planners as well. Colour the cells to highlight important days. Calendar Notices can also appear in a Planner and on a Noticeboard. click to learn more
Planner View a Term or Weeks worth of events. You can define your own Term date ranges, either full Terms, Half Terms or Semester, or call them what you like. Add header and footer summaries for the Term or Week. The Week Planner also has summary fields for each day. click to learn more
Forum Just like a web based forum, you can post Topics and Replies. Have as many forums as you need. Topics can contain hyperlinks to link to other parts of iNoticeboard and to web pages. Share knowledge easily. Ask questions and get answers. click to learn more
Messaging Send Messages to other iNoticeboard users. Easily view and manage all your Messages and Reminders in one place. This is an internal messaging system just for you and your colleagues. No spam here. click to learn more
Chat You can chat to other iNoticeboard users when they are online. Easily see who is online with the Contacts List and start a chat conversion. Manage all your chat conversations with the Chat Activity Panel. click to learn more
Reminders You can set reminders from the Noticeboard, Calendar and Planner. They can be sent to any number of people. Easily view today's Reminders in the Reminder side panel, and manage all your Reminders from the Messaging View.
Share and Print The Noticeboard, Calendar and Planner views can be exported to a PDF file to share with other people or to print if needed. Save time and money on paper and photocopying.
Today's Activity The Activity Panel shows all Activity for today. It shows when people sign in and out of iNoticeboard, you can send them a Message from here. It also shows when new Notices or Topics or Replies are added, and you can quickly view them from here.
Control Access iNoticeboard has Roles to control what each person can do. It ships with 4 basic roles that might suit most people, but you can copy and create your own Roles and easily override them with a few clicks. e.g. give a person the Read Role so they can only read the Noticeboards. Edit the Role and give them write access to a single Noticeboard with one click. You can choose exactly which Noticeboards etc. a Role can view and write too.
Easy to Update iNoticeboard is very quick and easy to update. When a new version is available, it only needs to be updated once, on the original computer where iNoticeboard was first installed. All the other computers on your network will automatically update their copy of iNoticeboard when it is next used. The update typically only takes a few moments.
