What is iNoticeboard ?

iNoticeboard is a computer program that combines Noticeboards, Calendars, Planners, Forums, Messaging and Chat into one easy to use package.

It only needs to be installed once, on a single computer and can then be accessed from all the other computers on the network. It is quick to learn and easy to use.


How much does iNoticeboard cost ?

What are iNoticeboard's system requirements ?

The computer where you install iNoticeboard has the following minimum requirements:

  • Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8/10, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016 or above operating system.
  • Pentium II CPU (Pentium III or above recommended)
  • 128MB of RAM (256 or more recommended)
  • 150MB Hard disk space
The other computers where you run iNoticeboard from have these minimum requirements:

  • Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8/10, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016 or above operating system.
  • Pentium II CPU
  • 256MB RAM (512MB recommended)
  • Java version 6 Runtime Environment (JRE) Standard Edition (SE) or above
  • A suitable web browser to run iNoticeboard for the first time. (IE 6.0 or above or Firefox 3.0 or above etc.)
  • Adobe Acrobat PDF viewer (optional)
Note: Java will be downloaded automatically if required when iNoticeboard is first used.


How do I get iNoticeboard ?

iNoticeboard comes as a single installable file. You can download it from the link at the top of the page or from here.

It is easy to install and only takes a few moments, and it is ready to use right away.

If you have any problems downloading the install file, check your browser or firewall is not blocking it.
The install file is an .exe file.

If you are unable to download iNoticeboard and would like a copy on CD-ROM, please contact us.


Where do I install iNoticeboard ?

You only need to install iNoticeboard once.

Ideally this will be a server computer that all the other computers on your network can connect to. If you don't have a dedicated server computer, you can choose any secure computer on the network, e.g. in an office where unauthorised people cannot access it.

If you are installing iNoticeboard to try it out, you can use any computer, e.g. a home PC or a laptop.


How do I run iNoticeboard ?

Once iNoticeboard is installed, you can run it from the same computer. There is an iNoticeboard Client Startup shortcut on the desktop and in the start menu to run iNoticeboard.

iNoticeboard is run the very first time via a web browser. This will check for Java and prompt you to install it if needed. Once iNoticeboard has been run the first time, an iNoticeboard shortcut will be placed on the desktop and in the start menu. That shortcut will allow you to run iNoticeboard directly, just like any other program installed on the computer.

To run iNoticeboard on other computers on your network, you need to have the address of the computer where iNoticeboard is installed. There are two ways to do this:

You can copy or email the iNoticeboard Client Startup shortcut from the computer where you first installed iNoticeboard, to other people, for them to use on their computers.

  or

On the computer where iNoticeboard is installed run:
   Start Menu -> Programs -> iNoticeboard -> iNoticeboard Tools

This will show the iNoticeboard Start Address. From here you can Copy the address or Email it to other people.

As explained above, iNoticeboard will be run the first time via a web browser, but after that you run it via the iNoticeboard shortcut on the desktop or in the start menu.


What is the username and password to sign in ?

Press the Help button on the iNoticeboard Sign in Window (where it asks you to enter your username and password).

The help window that appears should tell you the usernames and passwords you can use to sign in to iNoticeboard.

If you are still unable to sign in, you could try resetting the admin password, as shown below.

I cannot remember the sign in password

You can create a new, temporary Admin user account to sign in, from the computer where iNoticeboard was first installed.

Run:  Start Menu -> Programs -> iNoticeboard -> iNoticeboard Tools

Press the Reset button next to where it says "Reset admin password".
A small window will appear showing you the new Admin username and password, use them to sign into iNoticeboard.

Once you are back in you can reset your own password and delete the new Admin user account if it is no longer needed.


The licence has expired

When the iNoticeboard licence has expired, iNoticeboard will contain to work but only in read-only mode. You will not be able to add or change anything.

To update the licence, press the key icon at the bottom left of the main iNoticeboard window.

Follow the instructions in the Licence Window that appears. You need to send us the current licence key and we will issue a new one, contact us here.


How do I apply a new Licence ?

Press the key icon at the bottom left of the main iNoticeboard window and follow the instructions in the Licence Window that appears. You need to paste the new licence key into the New Key field and press the update button.
